Kia ora. I'm Aishah, Christchurch (NZ) based art therapist who currently supports adults with issues like trauma, grief & loss and anxiety. I am also particularly keen to work with first time migrant mums to be in NZ who wants to feel confident in their pregnancy but struggle with how to do that. My work involves using both art and talk where I love to collaborate with clients on their goals. I offer psychodynamic perspectives as well as somatic understanding. I also believe in the agency of clients to determine what lands or not for them, so I do engage in feedback-giving-requesting throughout. I look forward to meeting you at where you are!

Hi, I'm an art therapist. My approach is trauma-informed, person-centred, and strengths-based. I draw from psychodynamic psychotherapy while meeting you where you're at and moving at a pace that feels right for you. I work with children and adults. Art therapy can be a powerful way to explore what's hard to put into words. No art skills needed, just a willingness to be present and open. I have a particular interest in supporting children and women's mental health, especially around big emotions, trauma, identity, and life transitions. ✿ Feel free to book a free consult. I'd love to connect.

Yumeka is a registered psychotherapist and a professional art therapist with 4 years of experience in the field. Yumeka uses a mix of talk therapy, art therapy and EMDR therapy through a trauma informed and culturally informed lens. Yumeka is originally from Japan and lived in different parts of the world as an immigrant herself. Yumeka loves to learn and immerse herself in different cultures and she thrives to learn about different ways of living from the clients as well. I believe all of us are capable of change at any age with certain determination and compassionate support. I took many detours before coming into the mental health career and felt lonely and worthless. Art helped me number of times in my dark moments. It gave me an opportunity to grow and let me express difficult emotions. I believe now it is my turn to help others in difficult situations and provide support, relaxation and opportunity for self-discovery through creative expression of art therapy.

I work with people looking to heal relationships with themselves, ultimately leading to better relationships with others. Many of my clients self identify as people pleasers or perfectionists, who have a tough time slowing down and putting themselves first. We might have difficulty finding the balance between shutting down our emotions and having them take over. I have a special interest in helping people navigate complicated family dynamics and heal from childhood trauma. My approach is laid back and collaborative. I want you to feel in control, while also knowing you don't have to deal with these difficult experiences alone. I integrate approaches like DBT, ACT, and somatic therapy, with a holistic focus. As both a Registered Psychotherapist and Accredited Music Therapist, we can use words, music, or a combination of both in our sessions. I am happy to chat more about what this means and looks like in sessions.

Hello, brave and beautiful soul—yes, brave, because showing up here takes courage. How are you truly feeling today? Not the version you show the world, but the real you underneath. I believe healing happens from a place of safety, warmth and care. Think of me as a soft blanket when you need to wrap yourself up, or gentle support that helps you walk while you're still healing. You don't have to perform or have it all figured out. Whether you're navigating motherhood, grief, trauma, or feeling disconnected from yourself, we'll go at your pace. Sometimes we'll talk. Sometimes we'll create art (and no, you don't need to know how to draw). Sometimes we'll sit in comfortable silence while something deeper shifts inside you. I draw from Art Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy and Gestalt. But more than techniques, I offer genuine presence and the belief that you already have everything you need inside you—sometimes you just need a safe space to remember or search.
